Description
The castle situated on the rock cliff, built at the place of the Great Moravian roost, it used to be residential castle of Nitra magnificos and the Great Moravian monarchs between the 9th and 11th century. Nowadays, it is a residenceof Nitra bishop, the oldest building in the castle complex is the Romanesque church of St. Emeram, which nowadays is a part of Bishop cathedral. In the neighbourhood of the castle, there is a four wings bishop palace.
